A Scoil Chríost Rí graduate in Portlaoise has swept the board in her Leaving Cert grades.
Niamh Conroy from Emo got a perfect score of seven A1s, giving her the top score of 625 points.
She called into her school on the morning to chat to her delighted teachers, sharing her plan to study pharmacy. Tap NEXT to see full gallery of school photos. More story below.
Principal Helen O'Donnell is proud of her and of all 144 who sat the gruelling exams, including the 10 who did the Leaving Cert Applied exams, with 60% of them achieving distinctions.
"Niamh is a leader, she was involved in extra curricular activities. She won our Ceist leadership award this year. It's very hard to get a perfect result but she deserves it. She is very focused, a beautiful girl.
Many of the students did not come to the school that morning, as there are no paper results handed out any more in any school, with results now emailed directly to students.
"It's all online, but some students are working, and perhaps because we are back in school, they don't feel it's as easy to call in. Those who came got a warm welcome.
"We had a lot of high achievers, they were all very happy with their maths results, with a good number of A1s. There are wonderful results in the languages, the sciences, technology and business.
"I am proud of them all and I wish them well for the CEO choices on Wednesday. We are here to support them, and remind them that there are many pathways if they don't get their first choices, such as PLCs.
"It was quite difficult for them, they did so well considering they hadn't sat a Junior Cert exam. Our teachers did incredible work too," the principal said.
