Invite to Portlaoise Grotto for New Year's Eve special event
Blessed candles will be lit in Laois town
Local people are being invited to 'be part of something special' by taking part in the end-of-year rosary at the Grotto in Portlaoise on New Year's Eve.
Have a blessed candle lit and displayed for the sick deceased, your intentions or in thanksgiving. Your candle will be lit from 5pm on December 31 until after midnight with Rosary at 8pm.
The local organisers say your donation for the candle will go to Mary's hands in Medjugorje run by Jacov, the youngest visonary, and the invalids, pilgrims and poor in society.
Candle bookings can be made through the Parish Centre in Portlaoise or by contacting the following local organisers: Mary Byrne 086 3653168, Paddy Connolly 087 2117147, John Egan 087 1254841, Kitty Timmons 087 9506634, Jimmy Shields 087 6872633.
They add that a Mass will also be offered for your intentions in Portlaoise and in Medugorje.
