A landmark Laois pub is on sale in Portlaoise and there's a potential that it may not reopen as a licensed premises.
Donohue's Pub on Market Square / aka Top Square went on the market in recent weeks with the sale being handled by JP Younge Auctioneers in Dublin. Downstairs features a pub while the upper floor is a form restaurant.
As a new survey reveals that Laois has the fourth highest rates of pub closures in Ireland, the auctioneers describe the pub which has been operated by proprietor and well-known Laois man Seamus Donoghue.
