The club are now the proud owners of a new plot of land

As the new year begins, St Abban's Athletics Club has expressed their gratitude to Laois County Council for their invaluable support in processing the club's application under the Community Recognition Fund.

The club was awarded a grant that has enabled them to acquire additional land, marking an exciting milestone in their ongoing development.

The sale of the land, located as indicated on the attached map, was completed during the summer, and the club is now the proud owner of the plot. St Abban's Athletics Club also extended their thanks to local farmer John Burke, who agreed to sell the land to the club. More below picture.placeholder image

Looking ahead, the club plans to develop this new area to expand their training facilities as part of their commitment to growth. These plans, along with developments to the club’s existing facilities, will be outlined at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) which had been scheduled for Thursday, January 9 but has been cancelled in the interest of safety and given the weather forecast for the remainder of the week.

With the support of the local community and Laois County Council, St Abban's Athletics Club is excited about the opportunities this land acquisition will bring in the coming year.
