Laois businesses honoured at customer care awards
SPAR stores in Portlaoise, Mountmellick, Portarlington and Borris-in-Ossory recognised
Five Laois businesses have been honoured for their customer care at a national awards ceremony.
SPAR stores in Portlaoise, Mountmellick, Portarlington and Borris-in-Ossory were recognised at the 2026 SPAR 365 Standards Customer Care Programme Awards for achieving exceptional standards in retailing.
The awards were held recently in Killashee Hotel, in Naas in Co Kildare, and hosted by BWG Foods, owners and operators of the SPAR brand in Ireland.
This year’s SPAR 365 Awards, held in association with independent bodies Solution Management Associates (SMA) and Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), recognise SPAR stores that have excelled across all areas of retail operations over the past year.
In winning these awards, the SPAR stores were independently assessed across a range of criteria including customer service through SMA as well as a robust Food Safety and Hygiene audit conducted by LRQA. These exemplary SPAR Retailers received their award in recognition of their commitment to implementing Best practice store standards throughout their store, thereby providing an excellent customer experience to their local community.
The Laois stores who received a SPAR 365 Standards Customer Care Programme Award are: SPAR Corrib Oil Portlaoise; SPAR Corrib Oil Mountmellick; McDonagh's SPAR Portlaoise Plaza; O'Hanlon's SPAR Portarlington and SPAR Inver Borris-in-Ossory.
