READ MORE BELOW PICTURE ABOUT BALLINAKILL. Pictured: Ballinakill Tidy Town represented by Loretta Mansfield and Willie Stones with Cllr Connell. The judges found that the Ballinakill Amenity Park is a very ambitious project that required great vision, energy, a huge voluntary effort, and financial support to deliver. While it is still a work in progress, the playground and swimming pool are a great success, with equipment that is suitable for children and adults with additional needs installed. The pool has a hoist to assist people with mobility issues, which the judges felt indicates that Ballinakill as a community are a socially inclusive committed group. The judges were impressed that the project required a partnership approach between Ballinakill Community Development, Ballinakill Tidy Towns, Laois County Council and the Department of Community and Rural Development.
