Laois community on a special kind of search for unique project

Camross Tidy Towns in collaboration with Mountrath Mens Shed have made a special appeal on a project involving bog oak.

The groups hope local people will donate pieces of the ancient wood for a special project in the Laois village's community park.

"We have one beautiful piece but need some more, we are reaching out to landowners that may have found some pieces in the past and are willing to donate.

"We would be very grateful and want to honour the oak woodlands that existed in our community in the past. When finished it will be displayed in the new Community Park in Camross village," they say.
