Bicycle amnesty for one day only by Laois County Council

Laois County Council is on the hunt for any unwanted old bicycles, to take them at no charge and give them new life.

The council is holding a one day "amnesty" where it will take old bikes at no charge, with the aim of fixing them up for people in need in the county.

Adults and children's bicycles are accepted. They must be in reasonable condition, but no racing (road) bikes are accepted. The preference is for mountain or hybrid bicycles.

The bikes will then be repaired and donated.

The upcycling -literally - event will take place at Laois Civil Defence offices, Kea Lew Park, Portlaoise, R32 H210 on Saturday, July 27 from 11am until 3pm.
