Laois Councillor seeks action on caravan at beauty spot car park

A councillor has called for action to remove a caravan from the car park at Derryounce in Portarlington.

Sinn Fein Cllr Aidan Mullins said there is a caravan parked in the car park in the area of the entrance for the last two months.

He said the situation was unacceptable and he described the “rubbish and waste” in the area as “horrific”.

“Certain people can park caravans in public car parking spaces and get away with it with impunity,” he remarked.

“There is a major problem getting them removed and it is taking months and months,” said Cllr Mullins.

“I would just like to see that addressed. It is not fair on the community,” he said.

Cllr Mullins raised the issue at the latest meeting of Portarlington Graiguecullen Municipal District.
