Laois councillors praised for comedic 'celebrity chef' show

Two Laois county councillors have tried out a new job as celebrity chefs and it "went down a bomb".
Fine Gael Cllr John King from Rathdowney and Fianna Fáil Cllr Paddy Bracken from Mountmellick, got kitted out with all the chefs gear and mics, and gave a banter filled cookery demonstration at the recent Laois Living Well expo.

Cllr King got to grips with cooking a raw chicken while Cllr Bracken demonstrated how to make soup.
The review was glowing from their colleague speaking at the recent meeting of Laois County Council.

"The age friendly conference was an absolutely unbelievable event with over 70 organisations there. Every car space was used up. The highlight for me was the cooking by the celebrity chefs from the council.
"We all know you are both very funny, but it went down a bomb. You explained everything you were doing, and threw in your funny bits, the crowds were just laughing. I tasted the soup and it was absolutely beautiful.
"Cllr King did the chicken, he cooked it the night before and brought it with him and sliced it up, everyone loved it. Overall the show was brilliant," Cllr Fleming said.
The first Laois Living Well Expo took place on April 13 in Portlaoise College, organised by Age Friendly Laois and Healthy Laois
