Laois County Council to carry out survey on speed ramp need

A survey will be conducted to assess the need for a new speed ramp in Portarlington. 

The issue was raised in a motion at the latest meeting of Portarlington Graiguecullen Municipal District. 

Sinn Fein Cllr Aidan Mullins tabled a motion asking “that Laois County Council install a speed ramp in Park Lane, Portarlington.” 

In response, Senior Executive Engineer, Philip McVeigh said “Laois County Council will arrange to carry out a speed survey for this street.  The data from the survey will be used to assess the requirement for potential traffic calming measures.”
