Local sports nutritionist Laura Mahony will attend the event

The Harps GAA are inviting young athletes and their parents to take part in an exciting Recipe for Success cooking workshop designed to promote healthy eating and enhance sporting performance. This hands-on event will combine practical cooking skills with expert advice from sports nutritionist Laura Mahony, offering participants valuable insights into how to fuel their bodies for peak performance.

The workshop is part of the GAA’s Healthy Clubs initiative and uses the Recipes for Success toolkit, which provides simple and nutritious meal ideas tailored for young athletes. Participants will learn to prepare tasty, performance-boosting recipes and will also receive a complimentary Recipe for Success cookbook to continue exploring healthy options at home.

The session is open to registered The Harps Camogie and GAA players in the U14, U15, and U16 age groups, and parents are encouraged to attend alongside their young athletes. Spaces are limited to just 20 players, so early registration is advised. Attendees will also get to take home the recipes they create so be sure to bring a container!

This engaging event will take place on Wednesday, December 11, from 7:15 pm to 8:30 pm, at Heywood Community School. To secure a place, you can register online at this link or contact Laura at 086 3423900.
