Permission sought to retain mobile coffee and food container at big GAA club

A big Laois GAA club is hoping to get retention planning permission for a mobile coffee and food container.

Applicant Owen Donegan has lodged a planning application to Laois County Council, to retain the erection of a mobile coffee and food snack stand in the grounds of McCann Park, Portarlington's GAA club on Canal Road, along with connections to mains water and electricity from the clubhouse and all associated site works.

The business is in a repurposed shipping container.

The application includes permission given by the chair of the club, Niamh Maher.

It was sent in late June, but Laois County Council sent it back as 'invalid'. The application likely to be resubmitted with more information, and a decision made within two months.
