Laois GAA Senior Hurling panel announced ahead of 2024 league opener
Manager Willie Maher has named a 35-man panel
Ahead of Sunday's opening Division 2A clash with Down, Willie Maher has released his 35-man squad for their league campaign. Laois will compete in the second tier for the first time since winning it in 2013.
The panel features many household names associated with Laois hurling such as Rathdowney-Errill's Paddy Purcell, Clough-Ballacolla's Willie Dunphy and the returning Lee Cleere, who had been in Australia.
There are also a few new faces with Intermediate clubs Mountmellick and Trumera featuring a player each in the form of Jarlath Connolly and Bryan Bredin. Diarmuid Conway makes a welcome return having been in London while there are four players who have also been chosen on the U-20 panel. Jer Quinlan, Aaron Phelan, Cody Comerford and Tom Cuddy are set for busy seasons on the inter-county front as they make the step up to the Senior ranks.
