Laois hoping to progress in the Tailteann Cup as London await in final group game

The Laois senior footballers face a trip to Parnell Park on Saturday afternoon to take on London as they look to secure a place in the preliminary quarter-finals of this year's Tailteann Cup.

Laois will qualify in third-place with a win, but can also finish second depending on the result of the other game in the group between Cavan and Offaly which takes place in Longford.

Billy Sheehan's side will come into the final group game still wondering how Offaly managed to leave Portlaoise with a point as Laois had led by six points with 68 minutes on the clock.

It could be said that Laois' first-half performance was possibly their best of the season as they held Offaly off with relative ease. Their only downfall was their inability to take scoring chances when they were presented with them. Offaly were given a lifeline not to have been further behind before they kicked into gear and rattled off the last four scores of the game to ensure the points were shared.

Sheehan has named his team for tomorrow's game with London. The side sees one change from the starting 15 against Offaly as Cathal Doyle, who had originally been named to play, replaces Colm Murphy, who came in for Doyle last time out.
