Laois leads the way with new record for housing

Sean Fleming TD, Minister of State, welcomes the record 65% increase in the number of local authority housing completions in Laois in 2023, as compared to 2022.
In 2023, so far, 507 homes have been built by Laois County Council. In 2022, there were 308 homes completed. This is a major increase year on year.
This 65% increase is the highest increase by any county in the country. This progress will continue in 2024. In Laois, I am proud to say that we are exceeding all targets for building private homes and social homes.
Since 2020, when Fianna Fáil entered Government, there has been a significant ramping up on the number of house building and home completions in the County.
Providing homes for people is a priority for me and is a core value of Fianna Fáil in this Government. I am pleased to see this significant increase in Laois, which will help many families to hold the keys to their own homes.
I want to compliment Laois County Council, the Approved Housing Bodies and the construction companies for all their hard work in the building these homes for people and families in Laois.
This has only been possible due to record funding by this Government and the Fianna Fáil Minister for Housing.
