LAOIS MOTORING: Opel announces its new Corsa

Opel has announced the new Corsa.

The new Corsa bears a strong family resemblance to the popular Opel Astra with the new Opel “visor” front design.

The new model boasts completely new hybrid and electric power trains and a new interior which incorporates the optional fully digital cockpit with enhanced graphics and improved multimedia capabilities.

The new voice activated navigation systems responds to “Hey Opel” and promises better voice recognition and offers over the air updates.

There are lots of driver aids too not normally found in this size of car such as a high resolution rear view camera with flank guard matched to adaptive cruise control. And forward collision alert with  automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. All pretty impressive kit for a car in this class.

The new EV Corsa boasts a better battery with more range  (claimed at up to 400km) and faster charging reaching up to 80% in about thirty minutes.

Overall then the latest new Corsa looks set to retain its place as one of the more popular compact hatchbacks on the market.

Due to arrive in late 2023 prices will be announced in the coming months and of course I will have full road tests on both cars featured today in forthcoming issues.
