Laois primary school set for biggest annual fundraiser with Run4theHills return

Camross prepares for annual school fundraiser on May Bank Holiday
The Camross National School Parents Association is inviting the local community to take part in a major fundraising event on the May Bank Holiday, as preparations continue for their annual Run4theHills 5K & 10K.
The event will be based at the Community Hall in Camross Village, with both a 5km and 10km loop route around the village. Organisers say the event is designed to be as inclusive as possible, with participants able to walk, jog, run or even crawl the course depending on their own ability and preference.
For more competitive runners, official race numbers will be provided and participants can opt to be chip-timed if they wish, with organisers highlighting that the event caters for 'all levels of fitness'.
Registration opens from 10am, with the 10km race getting underway at 11am sharp, followed by the 5km event 15 minutes later. Local entertainment will be provided by Camross Comhaltas ahead of the start, creating a lively atmosphere in the village.
Entry costs €10 for adults, while children can take part for free. Every child will receive a medal and certificate upon completion of their run or walk.

After the event, participants and supporters will return to the hall for refreshments, as well as a presentation of medals and trophies, followed by a fundraising raffle.
The event is the biggest annual fundraiser for the Parents Association, with all proceeds going directly back into Camross National School to support essential resources and services for pupils.
Organisers have also confirmed that anyone who registers or makes a donation through the iDonate page or directly via the committee or school will automatically be entered into a raffle with a wide range of prizes.

Organisers have encouraged as many people as possible to take part, support the school, and help make this year’s Run4theHills another successful community day in Camross. The event takes place on Sunday, May 3.
