Laois rural road mucked by forestry trucks to Slieve Bloom mountains

Laois County Council urged to clean up layby in Cash, Clonaslee
Forestry trucks in the Slieve Bloom mountains are mucking up a rural road, according to a local councillor.
Laois Fianna Fáil Cllr Seamus McDonald wants Laois County Council to come out and clean up a layby beside Rickett's Bridge in Cash, Clonaslee.
"There is a layby right at the bridge. A lot of heavy trucks are carrying timber from the Slieve Blooms. It gets all mucked up. A day would clean it up," he said.
He noted that Cash is pronounced "Cush".
Cllr James Kelly quipped "we need cash for Cash".
In reply the district engineer James Dowling said staff will meet Cllr McDonald on site to investigate the remedial measures required at Cash.
