Laois Offaly TD and Brian Stanley and his colleagues on the Committee of Public Accounts (PAC) are facing in the prospect of wading through what being called a 'significant delivery' of paperwork from RTÉ as they try to get to the bottom of the station's dealings with Ryan Tubriday.

PAC Cathaoirleach Deputy Brian Stanley said the Committee’s first public meeting following the summer recess will have to consider how to process a large body of correspondence to consider regarding several matters bieing examining.

"This includes a significant delivery of documents last week from RTÉ which were requested by the Committee following our meetings with the RTÉ board and senior executives in July as part of our examination of the transparency of RTÉ’s reporting of payments to its former presenter Ryan Tubridy, and related contractual, corporate governance, and accounting arrangements," he said.

The Committee has already met with Mr Tubridy, his agent Noel Kelly as well as RTÉ management past and present.

“The Committee will also consider its work programme over the coming Dáil term, which includes meetings in the coming weeks to examine matters involving NAMA, the HSE, RTÉ and development of the new National Children’s Hospital. These all involve important matters of public interest, and we look forward to detailed examination of the issues involved to ensure accountability and transparency in the allocation, spending and management of public money so that taxpayers receive value for money for every euro spent on their behalf,” he said.

The PAC meets at 9.30am on Thursday, September 21 in in Leinster House to discuss correspondence received, accounts and financial statements, the Committee’s work programme and business of the Committee.
