Laois Chamber Alliance is asking people to participate in their Laois Skills Survey.

It aims to provide an up-to-date profile of the skills and educational profile of the county’s workforce, and to identify the sectors those in employment are currently working in.

In 2018 the Laois County Council conducted a Laois  Commuter Survey after the 2016 census revealed that 11,477 people left Laois daily to commute to jobs outside the county.

Laois Chamber Alliance are encouraging people currently living in Laois, and either working in the county or commuting to other counties for work, to take part in the new short survey.

Speaking about this important survey, CEO of Laois Chamber Alliance, Caroline Hofman believes the survey will provide crucial information for employers.

“It is crucial for existing employers and those interested in investing in the county to see what skills and talent are available to them. We have a fantastic pool of talent, and this survey will help us in identifying the existing skills within the county. It will also provide a picture of the skillsets and qualifications employees both working in Laois and commuting outside of the county have.

Access to skills and talent is a key area of importance for employers across all sectors, so it is essential that we have this up to date information which can be utilised to shape future policy and to promote investment and encourage employment in Laois,” said Ms Hofman.

Anyone who completes the survey will be in with the chance of winning a €50 Laois Gift Card. placeholder image
