Portlaoise College has launched its sleek and modern new school jacket and gilet.

The new clothing is a product of collaboration between the school's student council, the student body, the parent's council and school management.

Their unveiling marks a significant milestone for the school, emphasising the importance of the student's voice and its involvement in decision-making processes.

The initiative to introduce a new school jacket and gilet stemmed from the proactive efforts of the Portlaoise College student council, whose members worked to gather feedback and opinions from their peers. Through discussions with school management, the student council ensured that the voices of the student body were heard and considered throughout the design and selection process.

Principal Noel Daly expressed his enthusiasm for the new jacket, highlighting the importance of student input in shaping the school's identity.

"At Portlaoise College, we value the opinions and perspectives of our students," Mr Daly stated.

"This initiative not only showcases the creativity and initiative of our student council but also underscores our commitment to fostering a collaborative and inclusive school environment," he  said.

The newly unveiled school jackets were designed with both style and functionality in mind and reflect the school's culture while providing students comfort and practicality.

"It's inspiring to witness the culmination of our students' dedication and hard work," said one of the Student Council Mentor teachers.

"Seeing their efforts translate into tangible results that shape our school's identity reflects their dedication to their fellow students," another colleague added.
