Lost near ancient Laois cemetery because of no signs

Signs are needed near Kilcavan at Castlebrack to help people from Laois and Offaly to find an old cemetery, according to Cllr Seamus McDonald.

The Fianna Fáil councillor at a recent meeting with Laois County Council.  He said it was an ancient playground with great history but people get lost trying to find to it.

“There is a network of roads with no signs,”  he said.

Edmond Kenny, District Engineer, replied that the Council would arrange for replacements or new sigs as deemed necessary.

The issue was raised at the May 2023 meeting of the Borris-in-Ossory Mountmellick Municipal District.
