Man who tragically died following fall named locally

A man who died following a fall in Ballacolla was named locally as Mick Byrne.
The 71-year-old was hugely popular in the community where he was known as someone who would always lend a helping hand.
Mr Byrne died following a fall in Ballacolla on Monday. He was married with four adult children.
He was airlifted to hospital following the fall on Monday but tragically died.
Mr Byrne was immensely well liked and had been involved in golf, soccer and hurling in the locality.
Local Councillor Ollie Clooney said Mr Byrne’s death was devastating for the community who would now rally around his family.
