Met Éireann predicts sunshine and storms for Laois this week

Laois weather may experience an unexpected U-turn...
Met Éireann has exciting news for Laois locals this week, with temperatures as high as 26°C.
While Laois locals hail this as great news, Met Éireann has also reported a high possibility of heavy rain and thunderstorms.
“It's going to be a very warm week with temperatures generally in the low to mid twenties,” a spokesperson told the Leinster Express / Laois Live.
“It will be mostly, with heavy showers from Wednesday onwards.”
Due to the warm weather, forecasters say there is a chance of thunderstorms.
“Winds will be light, and with the sunshine, it will seem hotter in the midlands. It will be very warm and very pleasant, and quite humid at times,” they said.
“Tuesday will be similar to Monday's high temperatures, with a nice bit of sunshine expected. It will stay similar throughout the week, until occasional showers will fall from Wednesday onwards.”
Temperatures will be above 21°C, and are expected to reach 26°C on Friday. Unfortunately, Met Éireann are unwilling to call it a heatwave just yet.
“There will be the odd bit of cloud cover due to the rain from Wednesday, but it will overall be sunny and dry. At night, temperatures will remain between 12°C to 16°C degrees, with light southerly or variable breezes," the forecaster explained.
This weekend, current indications suggest that it will continue warm into the weekend with temperatures generally in the low to mid-twenties.
Plenty of dry weather is likely too though further showers are possible at times.
