Multiple crashes on narrow Portlaoise road used by Sat Nav drivers

Laois County Council is to install slow road markings on a small Portlaoise road used as an “overflow” for the busy Borris road after several crashes.
“There are a couple of very serious bad bends. At least three or four in recent months,” Cllr Willie Aird said when requesting traffic calming on the Knocknagroagh to Rathnamanagh road.
"People are using this for overflow traffic on the Borris Road. A lot are using it that are not used to the road. Sat Nav is bringing new people on this road. I look forward to seeing if you get funding in 2024 for a proper job," Cllr Aird said.
Cllr Catherine Fitzgerald seconded.
The council said it will apply for funds to do more works in the Safety Improvement Works for 2024.
