Laois County Council are to undertake a survey costing the installation of traffic calming measures at Cullohill National School.
Incidents of speeding have allegedly taken place on the L1558 by Cullohill primary school, with Laois Councillors demanding the installation of traffic calming measures.
Independent Cllr Ollie Clooney has requested that Laois County Council undertake the necessary works, following reports from concerned parents.

"There is a bend there as well, and the car would be on top of you before you would see it. I hope that we do get traffic calming measures here," he said.
Mr Diarmaid Donohoe, Senior Executive Engineer with Laois County Council's Active Travel, responded that a survey will take place to assess potential works.
"The Municipal District will get a traffic and speed survey carried out," said Mr Donohoe.
"A traffic calming scheme will be designed and costed, if required. Funding for the scheme will be provided from either a low-cost safety scheme application to the Department or from the MD discretionary grants," he said.
"The solar powered flashing advance warning signs will be checked to ensure they are operating satisfactorily," Mr Donohoe finished.
This motion was seconded by Fine Gael Cllr John King.
"Safety measures outside of schools have proven successful in the past, we have to protect lives at all costs," Cllr King added.
This motion was tabled at a February sitting of Laois County Council's Borris-in-Ossory / Mountmellick Municipal District.
