Parked in disabled space in Portlaoise

An engineer was fined for parking in a disabled space in Portlaoise. 

Mandla Wela, 24, of 1 Lake Court, Kilminchy, Portlaoise was accused of parking in a disabled space at Market Square, Portlaoise on June 24, 2023. 

Judge Andrew Cody asked him what he had to say about the offence. 

“It won’t happen again,” the defendant assured Judge Cody at the sitting of Portlaoise District Court. 

The man was asked if he worked. He told Judge Cody he was an engineer. 

Judge Cody fined the man €400 and gave him three months to pay.
