There was a great turn out for the talk on parental wellbeing led by clinical psychologist Dr. Eddie Murphy at Dunamaise Theatre in Portlaoise on Thursday, April 30. The talk, which was sponsored by Laois County Council Climate Action, explored key themes including understanding andmanaging anxiety, building emotional resilience in young people, and strengthening communication within families. Dr. Murphy also highlighted the important connection between wellbeing and lifestyle choices, including how active travel can help reduce stress, improve mood and support mental health for both parents and children. Laois County Council Climate Action highlighted the event as an example of how climate, health and wellbeing initiatives can align to deliver positive outcomes for communities, reinforcing the message that supporting mental health and resilience is central to building healthier, more sustainable futures for families across Laois.
