The daughter of Joe and Sheila Barrett, Róisín is a member of the hugely popular Irish act, The Mary Wallopers.
The group, who are due to play at Electric Picnic in Laois in September, was established just over six years ago by brothers Charles and Andrew Hendy and their mate Seán McKenna in a shed at the back of their rented house in Dundalk, where the trio gained cult status with their livestream gigs during Covid.
Fresh off the release of their self titled debut album, which was nominated for album of the year at the RTÉ Choice Music Prize, the band played the Acoustic Stage at the festival on Friday, June 23 at 3pm.
The stage is known for showcasing blues, folk, contemporary or country music and in the past has welcomed Ray Davies, Christy Moore, Joan Baez, Jackson Browne, The Waterboys, Robert Plant, The Moody Blues featuring… Michael Eavis, John Prine, Art Garfunkel, Kate & Anna McGarrigle, Keane and The Bootleg Beatles, amongst many others.
