Portlaoise College is '21st Century School of Distinction

Portlaoise College has been awarded the title ‘21st Century School of Distinction‘ 2016 from Trinity College for its efforts to promote third level education.

The school worked with TCD on the 'College For Every Student' (CFES) programme this year, with the impressive result that every 6th year student has now applied for a post-secondary course and many students visited colleges over the year.

Judges commended the school for achieving goals in Leadership, Mentoring, Raising college awareness, and 21st Century Teaching & Learning. Teachers Mr Kelly and Mr McClearn completed a post-grad in TCD as part of training for CFES.
