Road improvements needed in Killenard

Road improvements will be needed to deal with increased volumes of traffic around Killenard, a local councillor has said.  

“That stretch of road from Mount Henry Cross down to Jamestown. It’s a narrow enough road coming on to a serious junction there on the old Dublin Road. There is issues there ongoing, we will have to look at that again,” said Cllr PJ Kelly.  

“With the popularity of that hotel and golf club in Killenard the traffic is way more than it’s nearly able for,” he added.

He thanked the council staff for improving road markings at a four-way-all-stop crossroad known locally as The Heritage Crossroads.
