Rosenallis are through to the semi-finals of the Junior 'B' Football Championship after a dominant victory over Errill. The sides were in the LOETB Centre of Excellence on Wednesday evening, in a game that looked over before half time.

Rosenallis 5-8

Errill 0-5

It was a seriously one-sided affair in the first 20 minutes as Rosenallis raised four green flags to put themselves in total control. The first came after just 12 seconds when Niall Doolin played in Paul Maher, who made no mistake.

The second goal came in the 12th minute courtesy of a right-footed rocket from Conor Cosgrove. Five minutes later and Rosenallis were in again. Niall Doolin was quickest to react, taking advantage of a mix-up in the Errill defence.

Conor Conroy had two points to his name when he picked out John Kellett, who's soccer-style finish found the bottom corner of Brian Meehan's net after 20 minutes.

Errill managed to regroup in the final ten minutes of the half. Led by David Poynton and Paddy Purcell, they began to play some good football. But they failed to make the pressure count, only converting three scores in the entire half, while firing double that number wide.

Rosenallis held a commanding lead at half time, 4-4 to 0-3, and things only improved for them after the break. They scored 1-3 without reply in the third quarter, including a point from John Kellett and two from Conroy.

The goal came in the 44th minute when Niall Doolin got his second assist, feeding Colm Maher, who took his chance well. Errill landed a pair of consolation scores towards the end, but the result was never in doubt. Rosenallis will fancy their chances of making a final – at least.
