Sinn Féin signs stipped from Brian Stanley's Laois office in Portlaoise

Sinn Féin's association with Brian Stanley has disappeared from his office in the TD's Laois Offaly constituency office in Portlaoise.
The shopfront sign that previously adorned the office above a window has been removed. Sinn Féin appears to have been painted over on second sign that protrudes from the building with his face and name.
Dep Stanley was not present when the Leinster Express / Laois Live called to the office on Thursday, October 24. The office was open but staff were at work but could not comment.
Dep Stanley has so far declined to comment publicly on his political future since his resignation from Sinn Féin. He did issue one statement on carbon tax in which he was critical of the Government.

The Leinster Express / Laois News has made several attempts to seek clarity from Dep Stanley on his General election intentions since he resigned from the party and declared himself an independent Republican.
The TD was first elected in 2011 retaining his Dáil seat under the Sinn Féin banner 2016 and 2020. He was regarded as a hot favourite to retain his seat in 2024 prior to the controversy but many pundits have tipped him to retain the seat outside the party despite the controversy that caused his resignation.
Sinn Féin say they are working on selecting a candidate. Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil also have TDs in Laois but neither was planning to run second candidates.
