Storm Jocelyn leaves Laois homes without power

A total of 58 properties in Mountmellick are without power following Storm Jocelyn. 

The power went out at around  10.30pm last night and the ESB estimated it will be 2pm before power is restored.  

“We apologise for the loss of supply. We are currently working to repair a fault affecting your premises and will restore power as quickly as possible,” the ESB stated.

Meanwhile, Irish Water has said works may impact water supplies in the Mountmellick  area today. 

“A power outage may cause supply disruptions to Acragar, Davitt Road, Mountmellick and surrounding areas. Works are scheduled to take place until 2pm on 24 January, “ Irish Water stated. 

“We recommend that you allow two to three hours after the estimated restoration time for your supply to fully return,”  Irish Water said.
