Gates of Abbey Leix House and Farm to open to the public

Abbey Leix House and Farm has announced plans for its Summer Open Day 2024.

The Laois residence of tech billionaire John Collison, Abbey Leix House and Farm, will throw open its gates on June 23 for the family event.

Organisers are planning to transform the estate into “a wonderland of joy and excitement”  for the much-anticipated annual Summer Open Day at the estate owned by Stripe co-founder John Collison.

The Summer Open Day will include an air display, a 10k run and host of activities for children and adults alike.

Set on a 1,120 acre estate, the picturesque Abbey Leix House and Farm is home to some of Ireland’s most notable ancient woodlands with extensive frontage to the River Nore.

Last year, organisers marked the 250th anniversary of the commencement of building works on the impressive Abbey Leix House.

The Open Day featured family entertainment, markets boasting local craft and produce and an impressive air display by aerobatic pilots and a pilot from the Defence Forces Irish Air Corps.

“Prepare for a day packed with delights: Savour mouth-watering food, gaze in awe at the spectacular air show, engage in thrilling activities and challenge yourself with our epic 10 km trail run,” organisers stated.

Organisers say tickets for the event will be available soon.
