A Rathdowney bridge is in line for maintenance work this summer.

That was the pledge made to Cllr John King, Fine Gael, after he raised the issue at a recent meeting.

He called on the Council to repair the wall and replace coping stones on the bridge at the old Rectory road close to Belady cemetery.

Edmond Kenny, District Engineer, replied in writing.

“Repairs to the bridge will be undertaken by maintenance crews over the summer months,” he said.

The issue was raised at the May 2023 meeting of the Borris-in-Ossory Mountmellick Municipal District.
