Traffic calming wanted on 'dangerous' Portlaoise road

Traffic calming is requested on the Capoley road in Ballycarnan, Portlaoise, described as “dangerous” over the speed of traffic.
The road has rumble strips already but it needs more, says Cllr Willie Aird.
His motion to Portlaoise Municipal District December meeting was tabled by Fine Gael colleague Cllr Barry Walsh in his absence. He requested work
It was seconded by Cllr Catherine Fitzgerald.
“Traffic goes really fast out there. So many people said it to me, it's dangerous, there a couple of bends,” she said.
The council will view the site and arrange for traffic calming works.
