Tributes paid to young mum who has lost her life in Laois

A family and community in Laois is in shock and grief at the death of a young mother at her home in Mountmellick

Named locally as Sharon Crean, aged in her 30s, the mother of a little boy died during an incident at her home in College Avenue, Mountmellick, on Wednesday, December 14. 

Tara Cullen is among those to pay tribute on social media.

"I love you with every inch of my heart what ever I will do without you I will never know! We always had our ups and down but at the end of the day you were my sister my best friend my godmother all in one your little boy is going to be so lost without you I love you Sharon and I’ll never forget you always in my heart". 

A neighbour also paid tribute on a social media post.

"College Avenue won't be the same without you and I just talking to you yesterday at the Christ we talking about Christmas just around the corner a beautiful young woman taking way too soon for her baby a week before Christmas".

A man remains in custody at Portlaoise Garda Station, and an investigation continues into the death.
