Warning signs pledged on road linking Laois and Kilkenny towns

County Hall has pledged to erect warning signs about bad bends on the road between Rathdowney and Johnstown.
That was the promise made in writing to Cllr John King, Fine Gael, at a recent meeting.
He tabled a motion calling on the council to erect cautionary amber signs around the “bad bends on the approach road from Johnstown close to Rathdowney town.
Paul McLoughlin, Senior Engineer, replied in writing.
“The road design section will work with the Municipal District office to ensure warning signs are erected to inform motorists of the bends at this location,” he said.
The issue was raised at the May 2023 meeting of the Borris-in-Ossory Mountmellick Municipal District.
