WATCH: Laois kids in The Rock launch schools out rockin' video

Children from The Rock NS, Mountmellick who take part in a bodhrán programme with Music Generation Laois, have launched a video showcasing their adventures with their bodhráns.

This imaginative video, ‘Schools Out’, shows that the creative spirit is alive and well in The Rock National School, among young musicians, and also teachers Michael Fennelly and Maggie Hyland, and School Principal, Liam Ahern.

Dale McKay, Musician Educator with Music Generation Laois, alongside Terry Byrne from Music Generation Laois, developed the video with the children’s ideas as inspiration. The young bodhrán players feature as the central characters in the video, ‘Schools Out.’

Music Generation Laois is part of Music Generation, Ireland’s National Music Education Programme, funded by U2, The Ireland Funds and the Department of Education. Music Generation Laois is part of Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board and supported by Laois County Council.
