The incident is alleged to have happened at the Midlands Prison
A woman has denied using a false instrument at the Midlands Prison in Portlaoise.
Linda Byrne (51) of 2 Morrisons Close, Morrisons Road, Waterford is accused of using a letter that was a false instrument at the Midlands Prison, Portlaoise on June 28, 2019.
Brian Mallon BL requested legal aid and said his client was pleading not guilty and a book of evidence would be needed.
Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby asked for six weeks to prepare the book of evidence.
Judge Andrew Cody granted legal aid and adjourned the case back to Portlaoise District Court on January 13 for service of a book of evidence.
