Woman told gardai to f*** off in Portlaoise

A woman admitted running around an estate in her pyjamas and telling gardai to f*** off.
Louise McInerney, 38, of 86 Lake Drive, Kilminchy, Portlaoise was accused of being intoxicated and threatening and abusive at Lake Drive on June 2 last.
Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said gardai were called to lake drive on the date in question at 6.50pm.
He said the defendant was “running around the estate in a confused manner wearing only a green vest and underwear.” He said she told responding gardai to f*** off. He said the woman has eight previous convictions.
Solicitor Philip Meagher said his client is “extremely embarrassed and sorry” and had written a letter of apology.
“She would say she was actually wearing pyjamas with short bottoms,” he explained.
Mr Meagher said his client had an issue at home before having a number of drinks. He said she wanted to extend an apology to gardai and her neighbours. He said the woman has not had a drink since.
Judge Andrew Cody sentenced the woman to three months and suspended the sentence for three years.
