'Amazing!' Longford service receives significant donation from marathon committee

Abbott Longford Marathon Committee presented St Christopher’s Services with a cheque for €25,000.

St Christopher’s Services, which provides residential support across Longford, has expressed its delight after receiving a significant donation from the Abbott Longford Marathon Committee.

Accepting a cheque for €25,000, which was raised through the 2025 Longford Marathon, the organisation explained the funds will be used to support service users and help make a meaningful difference to their lives.

They said, “We are delighted to receive support for St Christopher's from the Abbott Longford Marathon Committee. The good people at Longford Marathon have donated an amazing sum of €25,000 from the proceeds of the 2025 Marathon. This will be used to support our service users and will make a significant difference to them. Our sincere thanks to everyone involved in the Marathon.”

The 2026 Longford Marathon takes place this weekend, Sunday August 30.
