Appeal for feedback on Longford late night events

Longford County Council is urging people to participate in an anonymous online questionnaire in relation to late night events in Longford Town.
Longford County Arts Service as part of Longford County Council, in association with Longford Community Safety Partnership (LCSP) is appealing for information on what the big issues are that influence people’s decisions to attend late night events in Longford Town.
The project – entitled the ‘Late-Night Events (Pilot Programme) 2023’ is a partnership between the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sports and Media and the Arts Council.
Longford County Arts Service has published a questionnaire as part of the pilot project, aiming to help businesses and cultural institutions extend and diversify the offering for late-night activity and provide opportunities for new and exciting work.
The brief questionnaire takes less than two minutes to complete and can be accessed from
the Arts page of Longfordcoco.ie by any member of the public with internet access or here at this direct link: https://bit.ly/LongfordTown LateNightEvents.
Here in Longford, businesses such as pubs, restaurants, cafes, and music venues are interested in hearing from you, about how late-night events (after 10pm) can be improved and made more accessible. They are particularly interested in hearing suggestions in relation to culture and entertainment, value-for-money, transport, and public safety.
Cathaoirleach of Longford County Council Cllr Colm Murray praised the initiative. “Exercises like this one are very welcome, they go towards helping to improve people’s experience of our county town and supporting the local businesses and organisations that form the heartbeat of our communities.”
Chief Executive of Longford County Council Paddy Mahon added, “Developing the night-time economy of our county is a key priority for Longford County Council.”
Shane Crossan, Acting County Longford Arts Officer, said, “Ultimately, it’s hoped the results of this study will encourage new audiences into existing cultural facilities. It will also seek to identify and address any challenges venues may associate with staying open late.”
People are encouraged to complete the exercise as soon as possible, the form will remain live until Friday, 1 September 2023.
