Longford photographers have been invited to participate in an environmental competition looking to showcase an enthralling Irish wildlife habitat.
The Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association and the Tipperary based Hedgerows Ireland group are teaming up to launch a fantastic hedgerow photography competition with free entry and generous cash prizes.
All you have to do is take a picture with your phone or a camera which celebrates or highlights some aspect of a hedge: this could be a beautiful example of a local hedge in your locality or a plant or animal or bird spotted in or around a hedge.
Alan Moore from Hedgerows Ireland explains that the idea behind the competition is to draw attention to our native hedgerow corridors which provide so many vital services to farmers and to wildlife and which are increasingly valued for their contribution to combating climate change and biodiversity loss.
Interested photographers can go to hedgerowsireland.org 'Latest News' and submit photos.
