Despite having themes of modern interest in her work, Edgeworth has yet to cultivate the worldwide attention that her fellow writer, Jane Austen, has acquired. Austen's work has received several adaptations: TV shows, movies, biopics. The two writers corresponded through letters.
However, the Maria Edgeworth Centre is catching the imaginations and fascination of people on a global scale. Would it be hard to believe that even 'Bridgerton' has mentioned it?
