A woman who pleaded guilty to her part in the assault of a husband and wife will return before Longford Circuit Court later this month. Dannielle Shanley (29) of 30 Springlawn, Longford was before Judge Kenneth Connolly arising from an incident in the early hours of the morning on August 2, 2020.

The assault occurred when the couple asked neighbours to keep the noise of a late night party down.

Co-defendant Ian Whelan (23), 9 The Mill, Clondra received a sentence of two years and six months, suspended for five years at a previous Circuit Court sitting.

When the matter was last before the court Judge Keenan Johnson adjourned it for preparation of a probation report, with a proposal to impose 200 hours of community service.

However the probation report before Judge Connolly said there was no further need for the defendant to engage with the Probation Services.

Judge Connolly put the matter back to May 25 next to allow Probation Services to prepare a formal Community Service report.
