Longford County Council is undertaking tree surgery works within the grass verges on both sides along the N63 Ballinalee Road, Longford between the junction of the Ardmichael Estate and the N4 junction.

Works are expected to commence from Friday, January 20 and to be completed by Friday, January 27.

The works will be carried out in phases over the course of the week with each phase requiring corresponding phases of temporary traffic management.

Most of the works will be confined to the grass verge and the traffic management will predominantly be just road narrowing with two-way traffic maintained, however there will be short duration phases that will require shuttle systems with Stop/Go flagmen in operation.

The purpose of these works are to facilitate future construction of the N63 Pedestrian and Cycle Scheme to commence later in 2023.

These works are funded by the National Transport Authority under the Active Travel Grants Programme.
