Longford Gardaí alerted after CCTV footage shows suspicious activity in town housing estate
The incident occurred in Longford town's Teffia Park at 6.30am this morning, Tuesday April 28
Longford Gardaí have been notified of CCTV footage - recorded at 6:32 this morning - in which a woman is seen behaving suspiciously outside houses.
The woman - who is from Longford and well-known to Gardaí - can be seen entering the driveways of houses in Teffia Park and actively checking if the car doors are unlocked.
Gardaí attended the area just before 8am this morning following reports of the woman’s behaviour.
The footage, which was originally posted by the Teffia Park Facebook page, prompted a number of comments from locals angered by the woman's actions.
One person wrote, "that one is going around the whole time checking cars. She was in Lidl's car park a few weeks ago. Can't see how she's getting away with it, she's known for it, ffs", while another commented, "She's at it the whole time, never stops..."
A local woman posted a comment stating they had found the woman in their garden at 6.50am this morning.
Gardaí have not confirmed if the woman has been questioned about the incident.
